HOW
TO USE YOUR EYE MEDICATION
1.
Confirm
that the product is for use in the eyes.
2.
Verify the expiry date and do not use after this
date.
3.
Ensure
that the seal of the container is intact.
4.
Wash hands thorougly and dry well.
5.
Sit down/recline (bed), tilt your head backwards.
6.
Carefully pull lower lid of affected eye downwards to form a pouch and look
upwards.
Eye
ointment
*
Discard the first 0.5cm of ointment.
*
Squeeze a 1cm line of ointment along the inside of the lower lid into the
pouch.
*
Close your eye and rotate the eyeball to spread the ointment.
*
Wipe away any excess from the eyelid and lashes with a clean tissue.
*
Replace the cap on the tube.
*
Initially vision may be blurred, but will soon be cleared by blinking.
*
Use preferably overnight or when the is covered.

Eye drops
*
When using a separate dropper, make sure that it is clean and not cracked.
Hold tip 1-2cm from the eye.
*
Instill the exact number of drops into pouch.
*
Release lower lid and try to avoid blinking (loss of medication) for about 30
seconds.
*
Apply gentle finger pressure to eye corner (near nose) for 1 min. to limit
drainage.
*
Wipe away excess with clean tissue. Do not rub.
*
Replace the cap on the bottle.
General
Precautions
*
Do not allow the nozzle/dropper to touch the eye(s), or eyelid(s),
eyelash(es) fingers or
any surface.
*
Never allow someone else to use your eye medication as this may cause
contamination.
*
Waft for at least 10 minutes before adding different
medications to the same eye.
*
Discard any remaining ointment or solution 4 weeks after first opening
the container.
*
Prevent the spread of Infection by washing your hands before
and after touching the eye.
Avoid sharing towels and face-cloths until the symptoms subside.
*
Do not wash/wipe dropper before replacing it in the bottle.
*
Contact lens wearers should remove lenses before using eye medication
in their eyes.
Should
no improvement occur within a few days, or you feel pain in the eyes, consult
your
medical practitioner/ ophthalmologist.
Keep
all medicines out of the reach of children.
