VANDERWALT Pharmacy was started 30 years ago on a very small premises.
Through the years this pharmacy has grown due to its policy of personal customer
service, and has built up a very loyal clientele. Most of the original customers
from 30 years ago are still dealing with us today. Andre van Rooyen from
Meyerton Pharmacy joined us later, and the 2 Pharmacies merged, and this was a
great success. All Andre's customers from Meyerton Pharmacy are still dealing
with him. After that Fred van Niekerk from Klip Pharmacy joined us. Fred's
customers also followed him with the result that VANDERWALT Pharmacy us now
busier than ever, and we are still trying to satisfy all our customers needs. Eric
Nortje a new young pharmacist has also joined us, and brings a whole new dynamic
to the pharmacy.
VANDERWALT Pharmacy was the market leading pharmacy in Meyerton, which started
discounting prescription medicine to its cash paying customers. Our thinking has
always been to give our cash customers the same benefit as the medical aid
funds, I.e. medical aid tariff pricing for prescriptions which they pay cash
for. To this end we have achieved first class status with numerous medical aid
funds.
The dispensary has 4 full time pharmacists with 3 pharmacist assistants, who
willingly provide free advice and lend an ear to help to cure any number of
ailments presented by our patients. On full time duty are Johan van der Walt,
Andre van Rooyen and Fred van Niekerk, Eric Nortje, with Marie Calitz being our
locum Pharmacist. Our pharmacist assistants are Johan van der Walt (Jnr), Alison
Steyn and Babsie.
Our Clinic does blood pressure monitoring free of charge. A nominal fee is
charged for blood sugar and cholesterol monitoring, as community service is of
more importance than the fee to us. Other services offered by our Clinic include
all BABY vaccinations, and certain adult vaccinations e.g. Flu, Hepatitis-B,
Tetanus etc, ear piercing, Pregnancy Test, Lung function tests, Family planning
etc. We are a dedicated team who feel we have fully earned the formidable title
of "Good Health Pharmacy". We have also started a traveling clinic
with the government which provides immunisation for people traveling to other
parts of the land or other countries, we also advice the of all the steps they
need to take to be safe.
Mrs. Jeanette van der Walt is the front shop manageress who has a sharp eye for
a bargain, the cost of which is always passed to the customers, thus ensuring
"Rock bottom prices". Not to mention the ultra low "LINK
Specials". There are 6 friendly, well trained front shop ladies, assistants
who will willingly help to satisfy all your whims and wants. They are Maria
Williams, Elsa van Wyk, Anne Deysel, Maryna van Heerden, Elna Nolte, and Tina de
Beer.

thus our clients are served and advised by professional, expert and interested
personnel who leave no stone unturned to satisfy their needs and requirements.
